Between the Pounds and the Pages

Weight has always been a part of my story.

But it’s never told the whole truth.

I’ve lost weight in seasons of sickness.

Gained in seasons of love, survival, and deep exhaustion.

Pregnancy made me smaller. Nursing made me bigger.

Go figure.

I’ve done every diet.

Tried every “fix.”

And still, balance feels slippery.

The body does tell a story,

often a powerful one.

But assuming we know the whole plot just by looking at the cover?

That’s easy to do… and not always fair.

I’ve been praised when I was hurting.

Questioned when I was healing.

Treated differently depending on the season my body was in.

And honestly? I get it.

We all do it.

It’s human.

But maybe?  Just maybe…it’s worth a second look.

Not just at others, but at ourselves too.

At how we talk to our own bodies.

At what we assume, what we carry, and what we’ve survived.

No advice here.

No tidy ending.

Just a little piece of my truth, in case it helps you feel less alone in yours.
